Abstract
A bass drumhas a hollow cylindrical shell, a drumheadmounted on an opening end of the shellto form a striking surface, and a striking surface attachmentprovided on the reverse side of the drumhead. The striking surface attachmentis formed of an elastic sheet. At least a part of an outer area of the striking surface attachmentis fixed to the drumheadand a central area of the striking surface attachmentis not fixed to the drumhead. As a result, the bass drumcan generate a struck sound having both deep bass sound and clear attack.
