Abstract

A protective sleeve for being installed around a longitudinal portion of a pipe () for transporting hydrocarbons. The sleeve includes a set of rings, each of which has two opposite flanks (), and which are retained together in series, with the flanks () opposite each other, by a plurality of elastically deformable connecting elements (). The bending of the longitudinal portion is capable of causing contraction of the connecting elements () located towards the inside of the curve, as well as the elongation of the opposite connection elements (), in order to resist the bending. Each connecting element () has two opposite rigid attachment portions () and an elastic deformable body () interposed between the two attachment portions. The attachment portions () are attached to the flanks () opposite the rings (), respectively.
