Abstract

Mechanism of interactively sharing, synchronization and control of information among users with different electronic contact types, using internet network based communication between a client application on the mobile electronic device and a server device, are described. As an example, a host can send invitation for a calendar event to other users whose contact type may be email address, phone number, a social media account with a single client application on the mobile device. Mechanism for the synchronization also allow for calendar event information on different client devices to be automatically synchronized. Identifiers may be automatically used by a synchronization mechanism implemented by a service. Identifiers may include user identifier, event identifier, information context identifier, device identifier or other identifiers. Messages, data structures and protocols between client devices and server to create, update, delete and respond to information data more specifically related to a calendar event are described. A mechanism to establish a direct communication link for exchanging instant messages among participants of an information context related to a calendar event using client device, server service and identifiers is also described.
