Abstract

A terminal and method of having conversation using instant messaging service therein. The terminals displays a message conversation list including at least one message conversation item. Each of the at least one message conversation item represents a corresponding previous message conversation with a corresponding external device. The terminal displays, in response to a first command of selecting a specific one of the at least message conversation item in the message conversation list, at least one received or transmitted message. The at least one received or transmitted message is displayed together with an incomplete file transceiving indicator when a file transceiving was incompletely terminated during a specific previous message conversation corresponding to the specific message conversation item. The terminal resumes, in response to a second command of selecting a file transceiving option displayed together with the at least one received or transmitted message on the display unit, the file transceiving.
