Abstract

A device and a method for detecting deposits () on walls () that are covered by a medium, in which as sensor () is integrated in the wall (). A component () of the sensor () locally heats the medium in a region (), and the temperature of the medium around the component () is detected. The sensor () relays temperature measurement signals to an analysis unit (), where the degree of deposit formation is determined, e.g., by comparison with stored reference data.
