Abstract

A method and system () are provided for monitoring a restricted area () below a temporarily elevated worker () working on an elevated power transmission line (). The method and system () utilize a Doppler radar module () that is temporarily elevated to a location () adjacent the worker () and that is configured to detect the presence of personnel () who enter the restricted area (). The system () is configured to automatically alert personnel () at the worksite () who enter the restricted area () in response to detection of the personnel () by the Doppler radar module ().
