Compounds of formula R-A-NH—CH(R)—CO—Rare presented. The compounds can be used to treat or alleviate conditions associated with bone loss or low bone density, or to inhibit osteoclast differentiation and stimulation, bone resorption and/or loosening of a prosthetic device. The compounds can be administered as a pharmaceutical composition or in a prosthetic device.
