Abstract

A method in a sending system entity for estimating a frequency offset associated with a data transfer from a receiving system entity in a mobile communication network is disclosed. The method includes extracting user data associated with a predefined user from the transferred data and transforming the extracted user data into a time domain. The method also includes estimating a resource symbol phase offset, θ, between two resource symbols representing the same user from the transformed user data and estimating a resource element phase offset, θ, between two resource blocks occupied by the same user. Additionally, the method includes estimating a frequency offset based on θand θ.
