Abstract
Methods are disclosed for producing chemically-strengthened, borosilicate, glass articles. The articles are produced from batch components which are selected, at least in part, based on measured and/or estimated values for the coordination state of BOin the glass. In this way, such chemical-strengthening properties as mutual diffusivity, maximum surface compressive stress, and/or indentation threshold can be improved.
