Abstract
It is possible to provide a mobile electronic device which can accurately judge the service life of a cell even when the cell is replaced. Provided is also a method for controlling the mobile electronic device. A control block () includes: a voltage measurement unit () which is connected to a charge cell () and measures a voltage value of the charge cell (); and a control unit () which performs control to measure a voltage of the charge cell () by the voltage measuring unit () upon each start and end of charge of the charge cell (), stores in a storage unit (), information on a number of charge/discharge times identified by the measured voltage value, and outputs information on the service life of the charge cell () according to the information on the number of charge/discharge times from an output unit (equivalent to a display () a speaker ()).
