Abstract

A door lock () includes a latch device () and an inner operational device () mounted to a first side (A) of a door () and an outer operational device () mounted to a second side (B) of the door (). The inner and outer operational devices () can be operated to retract a latch () of a latch device () from an extended, latching position to a retracted, unlatching position. A tooth () on an actuator () of the outer operational device () breaks if a large force is applied to a handle (). A spindle () pivots freely without moving the latch (), preventing damage to components of the outer operational device () and the latch device (). A base () of the latch device () can be comprised of first, second, and third plates () to allow sheet metal processing without sacrificing structural strength.
