Abstract

The object of the present invention is to reduce the occurrence of the light leaks from the periphery of the display flame at the originally black display time in high-temperature environments. Disclosed is a polarizing plate comprising a polarizer, a protective film on a side of the polarizer and a retardation film on the other side of the polarizer; wherein the polarizer has an absorption axis at 45° from any one of the long and short sides of the polarizing plate, the retardation film has an in-plane slow axis parallel or orthogonal to the absorption axis of the polarizer, and a difference Δε'in a dimensional change between the polarizing plate and the retardation film in the absorption axis direction of the polarizer satisfies the formula: |Δε′|≦0.10%.
