Abstract
A structure such as a containment case () for a gas turbine engine () comprises an annular housing () made of composite material. A sleeve-like flange unit () is fitted onto an end of the housing () and is mechanically joined thereto by a first portion () of the composite material of the housing which projects into a recess () of the flange unit (). This reduces or eliminates the need to use mechanical fasteners to connect the housing () to the flange unit ().
