Abstract

A pop up prism camera () having a pop up prism lens assembly (). A first lens assembly (), a second lens assembly (), and a prism assembly () are moved in relationship to a camera housing () controlled by a cam tube (). The prism assembly () projects outside the camera housing () when the pop up prism camera () is in an operational configuration. A prism () of the prism assembly () redirects an optical path (). A non-angled portion () of a first cam groove () causes the prism assembly () to remain fixed relative to the camera housing () while continued rotation of the cam tube () allows the first lens assembly () and the second lens assembly () to continue to move to accomplish a lens zoom function.
