Abstract
The edge light type backlight device () includes a light guide plate (); an LED light source (); a reflective sheet (), the edge thereof on the side facing the LED light source () extending toward the LED light source () beyond the surface of the light-guiding plate () that faces the LED light source (); and a chassis () that has a bottom plate () and side plates () rise from one surface of the bottom plate () and that stores therein the LED light source (), the reflective sheet (), and the light guide plate (). The LED light source () is affixed to the side plate () of the chassis (). In the reflective sheet (), near an edge of the reflective sheet () on a side facing the LED light source (), a fold line () for bending is disposed across two edges connected to that edge.
