Abstract
The backlight device () is provided with a bottom plate (), a light-guide plate () that has a light-receiving face () on a side face and that is arranged such that the back surface of the plate is oriented to face the front of the bottom plate (), an LED light-source () that is arranged opposite to the light-receiving face () on the front surface of the bottom plate (), a reflective sheet () that is arranged to be in contact with the bottom surface of the light guide plate (), a protruding member () that is formed so as to protrude from the front surface of the bottom plate () and that has, as top surfaces, a first surface () provided so as to contact the surface of the reflective sheet () on the side opposite of the bottom plate and a second surface () that is separated from the first surface () by a step () and that, between the light-receiving face () and the LED light source (), is higher than the back surface of the light guide plate ().
