Abstract

A booster explosive () is comprised of assembled components comprising a canister body () having a fuse tunnel () formed integrally therewith and a separate cap well () mounted within the canister body () which is filled with a solid cast explosive (). The connector end () of cap well () is configured to engage cap well mounting fixture () disposed within the canister body (). Cap well mounting fixture () has a flexible and resilient crown-shaped locking member () formed integrally therewith and is otherwise configured to positively retain a detonator () within the cap well (). More than one cap well (') and more than one fuse tunnel (′) may be provided in the canister body ().
