An artificial sunlight radiation device () includes a xenon light source (), a condensing element (), a tapered coupler (), an optical filter (), a light guide plate (), a light extracting member (), and a side-surface reflection member () that is provided at one or more side end surfaces of the light guide plate (), reflects a portion of the light output from the light guide plate (), and directs the portion of the light toward a radiation surface.
