The invention discloses a base station () for a cell () in a cellular communications system (). The base station comprises a scheduler () for scheduling transmissions to users () in the cell () and a transmitter with a power amplifier (). The scheduler () is also arranged to set the output power level of the power amplifier () for an upcoming transmission period.
