Abstract

The present invention can further increase the efficiency of light extraction from the light exit surface of a light-emitting device. A cell () for a light-emitting device includes: a first main wall () and a second main wall () which are disposed facing each other with a distance therebetween; and a sidewall (). The sidewall () connects the first main wall () and the second main wall (). The sidewall () defines, together with the first and second main walls (), an internal space (A) into which a luminescent substance is to be encapsulated. A portion of the sidewall () located laterally of the internal space (A) is white.
