Abstract

An automotive combined turn signal and tail/stop lamp () having co-axial transparent collimating inner and outer light guides (). Inner collimating light guide () receives light from a yellow LED (), outer collimating light guide () receives light from red LEDs (), the yellow and red LEDs located in thermal communication with a common heat sink (). Mirror optics () reflect light from respective light output prisms () of the inner and outer light guides outward to nested reflectors on the automobile. Electrical conductors () between the light guides () can feed power from a PC board () to supply additional light sources within an RCL housing, such as white back-up light.
