Abstract

The present disclosure provides a fluorination process which involves reacting a hydrohaloalkene of the formula RC—Cl═CHwith HF in a reaction zone in the presence of a fluorination catalyst selected from the group consisting of TaFand TiFto produce a product mixture containing a hydrohaloalkane of the formula RCFClCH, wherein Ris a perfluorinated alkyl group.
