Abstract

The invention describes a discharge lamp () comprising a quartz glass envelope (), a discharge chamber () and a pair of electrodes (), wherein an outer end portion (A) of an electrode () overlaps a conductive foil () embedded in a pinch () of the quartz glass envelope (), and wherein the electrode () comprises an inner structured zone (ZB) in an inner portion (B) of the electrode () between the conductive foil () and the discharge chamber (), and an outer structured zone (ZA) over the outer end portion (A) of the electrode (), and wherein the outer structured zone (ZA) and the inner structured zone (ZB) are different from each other.
