Abstract

Provided is a method for producing a high-carbon number saturated hydrocarbon compound by subjecting a mixed biomass solution containing benzyl phenyl ether (CHCHOCH) to a two-step reaction process using a difunctional catalyst having an acid catalyst combined with a metal catalyst. The method allows development of a fuel substituting for and supplementing petroleum through decomposition and conversion of a biomass containing lignin or the like, thereby providing a non-petroleum based biofuel.
