Abstract

The invention relates to an electrode for a lithium battery that contains LiFePOas electrochemically active material and a binder consisting of polyacrylic acid. The polyacrylic acid has a mean molecular weight greater than or equal to 1,250,000 g·moland strictly less than 2,000,000 g·mol. The percentage of LiFePOis greater than 90% by weight and the percentage of polyacrylic acid is less than or equal to 4%, said percentages being calculated with respect to the total weight of the electrode. The invention further relates to a lithium storage battery having a power or energy operating mode that contains the electrode for a lithium battery.
