Abstract

A sensor assembly includes a carbon nanotube bundle and a controller. The carbon nanotube bundle is integrated into a host material and extends along a predetermined dimension of the host material. The controller is configured to control transmission of radio frequency energy through the carbon nanotube bundle to determine a round trip time between transmission and reception of the radio frequency energy at a proximal end of the carbon nanotube bundle responsive to reflection of the radio frequency energy at a distal end of the carbon nanotube bundle.
