Abstract
The present invention relates to a scanning tool () for scanning an object downhole. The tool has a longitudinal axis and comprises an emitting device () for emitting radiation, a lens () for transmitting the radiation in a predetermined pattern () of radiation, and a receiving device (). In a first position of the tool, the pattern of radiation is reflected on the object () to be scanned and the reflected radiation is received in the receiving device resulting in a first measurement.
