Abstract
A recording medium has a backcoat layer, a substrate, and an ink-receiving layer in this order. The backcoat layer contains a first inorganic particle, a second inorganic particle, and a binder. The first inorganic particle has an average aspect ratio of 5 or more and an average diameter of 0.2 μm or more and 10.0 μm or less. The second inorganic particle has an average aspect ratio of less than 5 and an average diameter of 0.1 μm or more and 0.9 μm or less. The mass ratio of the first inorganic particle content to the second inorganic particle content of the backcoat layer is 30/70 or more and 70/30 or less.
