Abstract
A method, network node and UE device () for wireless access control and load balancing among various access nodes () in a radio access network that contains both base stations () and relay notes (). A wireless UE device () receives a message containing at least one of the respective loads for a group of access nodes and weighting factors for possible connections. The device determines a preferred access node () using at least one of the respective loads and weighting factors and attaches to the preferred access node.
