Abstract
A gear unit, including an input shaft, a bearing for supporting the input shaft being provided in a housing part of the gear unit, wherein a fan impeller is provided on the input shaft, the housing part being beveled at least in the surface area adjacent to the fan impeller and/or a beveled cowl being mounted on the housing part.
