Abstract

In a method of assembling a component by means of a fastening clip (), the fastening clip () comprising a latching portion () and a head element (), the head element () is transferred from a preliminary mounting position to a final mounting position for assembling the component. An enabling element () is provided which is transferred from a first position in which a machine-readable code () applied on the fastening clip () can not be read, to a second position in which the code () can be read, when the head element () is transferred to the final mounting position.
