Abstract
Phosphor particles of generally spherical shape have an average particle diameter of 5-50 μm and an average roundness of up to 0.3. The phosphor includes a garnet phase having formula: (AB)COwherein A is Y, Gd, or Lu, B is Ce, Nd, or Tb, C is Al or Ga, and 0.002≦x≦0.2.
