Abstract
The invention relates to a method for operating an electromagnetic transfer system () which is used to convey items () to a downstream conveyor device (), and which comprises a carrier path (), preferably designed to be closed, on which there is at least one moveable transport element () for an item () that is moved along on a transport surface () by said transport element (), said transport element () having at least one permanent magnet element () that is arranged to be functionally connected to individually-energisable inductor coils () which are arranged along the carrier path (). Position-detecting means () are provided to ascertain the position of the transport element () on said carrier path () and, in a delivery region (), the item () is delivered from the transport surface () to the downstream conveyor device (), said conveyor device having a separate drive (). According to the invention, in order to reduce the spacing (A, A, A) between individual items () on the downstream conveyor device (), the conveyor speed (v) of said conveyor device () is reduced intermittently at the point of delivery from the transport surface () to the conveyor device (), in relation to the speed (v) of the transport element (), and/or the speed (v) of the transport element () is increased at the point of delivery in relation to the conveyor speed (v) of the conveyor device ().
