Abstract

The present invention relates to an ultrasound imaging system () and method that allow for a quantitative analysis of the acquired images during acquisition and for an optimized workflow for image acquisition and analysis. The proposed ultrasound imaging system () comprises a transducer () configured to acquire ultrasound images () of an object based on one or more adjustable acquisition parameters, an analyzer () configured to analyze an ultrasound image () in real-time for a mean intensity value (), and a processor () configured to determine in real-time when the mean intensity value () has reached a peak and to change the setting of at least one of the one or more adjustable acquisition parameters after a peak has been determined.
