Abstract

A method for providing a descriptor of a location to a recipient includes receiving location data of the location from a user and using the location data to identify a plurality of regions near or including the location. Each region is associated with a descriptor. The recipient's level of familiarity with each of the regions is determined and at least one region is selected based on the recipient's level of familiarity with the at least one selected region. Once the at least one region is selected, for each of the at least one selected region, the descriptor associated with the selected region is provided to the recipient via the user.
