Abstract
A fluorescence endoscope apparatus includes an illuminating portion radiating excitation light and illumination light onto an imaging subject; a fluorescence imaging portion acquiring a fluorescence image by capturing fluorescence emitted at the imaging subject due to the irradiation with the excitation light; a storage portion storing the fluorescence image; a return-light imaging portion acquiring a return-light image by capturing return light returning from the imaging subject due to the irradiation with the illumination light; an image-information extracting portion extracting, from the return-light image, image information that expresses the intensity of the illumination light; a number-of-integrated-images setting portion setting a number of integrated images so that the number is decreased with an increase in the intensity of the illumination light, based on the image information; and an average-image generating portion generating an average image by averaging the stored fluorescence images in a number corresponding to the set number of integrated images.
