Abstract

A regeneration method () for regenerating an adsorber (), connected downstream of an internal combustion engine (), of a motor vehicle () with a hybrid drive train is described. The internal combustion engine () is operated in a phase of rich combustion for regeneration of the adsorber (). According to the description, an engine load () and/or an engine rotational speed () of the internal combustion engine () for the rich combustion is influenced by means of an electric machine () which can be coupled mechanically to the internal combustion engine ().
