Abstract
A patient monitoring device () transmits patient data packets () to a server (). In response to the server receiving the transmitted patient data packet, the server sends an acknowledgement (ACK) message () from the server at the patient monitoring device including a timestamp (). The patient monitoring device compares the timestamp in the received ACK message with a current time of its clock (). If the times differ by more than a selected amount, the clock is synchronized to the timestamp.
