Abstract

An illumination optical system unitA includes an optical fiberA, a fluorescent body, a ferruleas a holding member that holds the fluorescent, bodyand the optical fiberA, a cylindrical first sleeve memberthat covers the outer periphery of the fluorescent bodyand a protective coverthat seals the tip side of the fluorescent body. The ferruleholds the optical fiberA and the fluorescent body, and is inserted into the first sleeve member. A magnetic metal filmis provided on the surface of a fluorescent body-holding portionof the ferrule. The tip of the protective coverand a magnetare allowed to come into contact wife each other to generate magnetic force between those two, so that the fluorescent bodycomes into close contact with the protective cover
