Abstract

A surgical microscopecomprises an imaging systemproviding a magnified multidimensional image of an objectdisposable in a focal planeof the imaging systemalong at least one optical imaging path. The imaging systemcomprises an objectivehaving at least two lens groups, through which the at least one optical imaging pathpasses consecutively, and which define the focal planeof the imaging system. At least one lens groupof the objective is moveable along its optical axis relative to the at least one other lens groupof the objective. The objective's first lens grouplocated directly adjacent to the focal planealong the at least one optical imaging pathconsists of at least three optical lensesand has altogether a negative optical power.
