Abstract
An optical switch () for alternatively redirecting a source beam () includes a director assembly () that is selectively moveable between (i) a first switch position (), (ii) a second switch position (), and (iii) a dual switch position (). In the first switch position (), the source beam () passes to a first port (). In the second switch position (), the source beam () is directed to a second port (). In the dual switch position (), the director assembly () splits the source beam () into a first beam part (A) that is directed to the first port (), and a second beam part (B) that is directed to the second port ().
