Abstract
A display device uses a multilayer film (), which reflects (red) light having wavelengths between about 600 and 800 nm at a 60 degree angle of incidence (), to protect a liquid crystal panel () from heat and sun damage. The film () transmits light of the visible band with a wavelength between about 420 and 650 nm at normal incidence (). The outermost surface () of the film () may be a hard coat (). A metal oxide layer () and a metal layer () may be included to reflect IR light greater in wavelength than about 850 nm.
