Abstract
The invention relates to a storage compartment comprising a storage space, a cover flap () covering the opening () of the storage space, said flap releasing the opening () in an opened position and closing it in a closed position, and a mechanism () for opening and closing the cover flap, wherein the mechanism comprises a first coupling rod () that is mounted on a first pivot rotatably about a first axis () in the storage space and comprises a second pivot spaced from the first pivot, and a lever () arranged rigidly on the cover flap is mounted on the second pivot rotatably about a second axis (). According to the invention, a gear wheel section () that is in engagement with a further rotatably mounted gear wheel () is present on the cover flap, wherein the gear wheel is also arranged on the coupling rod.
