Abstract
Provided are an adsorptive carbon which can effectively adsorb vivotoxins such as advanced glycation end products (AGEs), and an adsorbent containing the adsorptive carbon as an active ingredient. The adsorptive carbon according to the present invention has a total pore volume of 0.10 to 1.0 mL/g, an average pore diameter of 1.0 to 2.0 nm, and an absorbance of an infrared absorption band at 1650-1800 cmof no less than 0.005.
