Abstract
A motor control device has an overcurrent test unit to send a first test voltage Vtlower than a reference voltage Vref for overcurrent determination and a second test voltage Vtnot lower than the reference voltage Vref to an overcurrent determination unit when a synchronous motor is not rotated. The motor control device determines that an abnormality occurs in the overcurrent detection unit when the overcurrent determination unit determines that the first test voltage Vtcauses an overcurrent on the basis of a comparison result, or the second test voltage Vtcauses no overcurrent on the basis of the comparison result.
