Abstract
Disclosed are antimicrobial compositions, and methods for killing, inhibiting, or preventing the growth of microbes, using trimethylene glycol oligomers or dimers. The trimethylene glycol oligomers and dimers have the formula R(CHCHCH—O—CHCHCH)Rwhere R and Rare hydroxyl, amine, or ester functionalitiess, and n is 2 or higher. The antimicrobial compositions are useful in personal care and cosmetic compositions.
