Abstract
The invention is to provide a new liquid crystal compound having a high clearing point, a good compatibility with other compounds, a small viscosity, and a high stability to heat, light and so forth; compound (1) is provided:RCFR  (1)wherein, for example, Ris alkyl having 4 to 10 carbons or —(CH)—CH═CH, Ris alkyl having 2 to 10 carbons, n is 8, and Rand Rare not allowed to be straight-chain alkyl having an identical number of carbons.
