Abstract
In the separation of a cover tapefrom a carrier tapeperformed by a cover tape separating mechanism, a cover tape, which is separated from a base tapeby a separating blade edge, comes into contact with a concave conical surface, so that one side portion of a cover tapeis bent toward the other side portion; and the bent cover tapeis pressed against a guide surfacefrom below while the carrier tapeis guided to a pick-up position. Accordingly, the cover tapeis folded on the base tapein a flat shape.
