Abstract

A method for passivating metallic surfaces, wherein the surface is contacted with an aqueous composition comprising at least one water-soluble polymer (X) comprising acidic groups and with at least one surfactant (T) based on alkoxylated alcohols, the pH of the composition being in the range from 0.5 to 5, enables durable protection of the surface.
