Abstract

A bacterium belonging to the genushaving an ability to produce reveromycin A or a synthetic intermediate thereof, the bacterium being modified so as to increase expression of revQ gene coding for the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 36 or an amino acid sequence having an identity of not less than 80% to SEQ ID NO: 36 as compared with a parent strain, thereby the above-mentioned production ability is increased as compared with the parent strain.
